Artist's Description
The Deer hide themselves by the stream's waterfall as the autumn sun pierces the forest.
Take a gesso painted background and cover with medium, then using transparent oil paint of yellow, sienna, Crimson and brown lightly coat the canvas going from the centre to the outside of the canvas leaving the very centre unpainted. Blend well to get a smooth transition between colours. Add a little yellow to white and place this as the light source. Put blue on the bushes, and tap in yellow to make green, highlight the green with yellow. Tap in green, yellow, and crimson on the trees to produce the foliage, and then using a dry brush, carry out the bravery test by dragging the light source down and across to form sunbeams.
The Bob Ross oval brush has been used to great effect here.
Mix white and medium with a mere trace of blue to form the rapids with a fan brush.

From that moment on, I started painting, I painted predominantly...
